A new year, another new recruit! Meet, Tom! 👋🥳

Adapt has been fortunate to continue its growth path over the past six months, and, as a result, we have needed to bring another pair of technically competent hands on board. So please join us in welcoming Tom to the Adapt team! Tom joins us as a developer with full-stack capabilities in the Javascript ecosystem, which he will apply to a select few of our closest client relationships.

Get to know a little about Tom through his answers to the following icebreaker questions, and join us in giving him a warm welcome to the team! đź‘‹

What bucket list item do you most want to check off in the next six months?

Over the next few months I think one of the more achievable bucket list items I have is to start my own racing team, and getting the licences in place is a great place to begin.

What is one thing we would never guess about you?

I suppose the most unexpected aspect would be that I am a (soon to be) father of 2. I think it throws people off given my “Youthfulness”.

If you could go to Mars, would you? Why or why not?

If the opportunity ever arose for me to go to mars ofcourse i would take it, who wouldn’t want to experience the sci-fi version of the oregon trail?

What is the best piece of advice you have ever gotten at work?

It’s worth doing something thoroughly once , rather than poorly multiple times. and i have believed it to be true,it saves time and stress at a later date, even if it takes longer to complete.

Would you rather be able to read minds or be able to see the future? Why?

I think the ability to read minds would be a more powerful tool, you can predict a person’s next move or have insight in how they feel about a specific topic. I wouldn’t want to see the future, you would never really be living in that moment, you would be constantly looking at the next.

Three famous people to live on a deserted island with, who are you bringing and why?

Assuming they all have to be people who are currently alive (and i need to survive and not just enjoy a quiet beach holiday) i would bring Bear Grylls, Ant Middleton and probably Robert Irwin. I feel like the chances of survival are higher bringing these guys than a bunch of comedians.

What fascinates you about technology?

To this day I am always impressed by how small computer chips are, they can be less than 1 square inch and yet contain millions of transistors. Computers are going to do nothing but continue to be more complex, smaller, lighter and faster. I am proud to be a small part in the continuation of the cycle for better technology.

What are you most excited about with your new role at Adapt?

I think what’s most exciting about Adapt is the opportunity to grow and develop my skills, working alongside multiple clients and hopefully excelling expectations.
