What was your dream job when you were a kid?

My dream job has always been something to do with technology. Whether, that has been developing games, apps or hardware, technology has always attracted my attention and interest.

What is one important skill that you think everyone should have?

I think everyone could do with being a bit more computer/technology literate. I think that you really have to try hard to avoid contact with anything that has to do with technology even for a day. It still amazes me how much people miss the unlimited potential that technology has to offer simply because there is just not enough interest in fully utilising the devices that we spent our valuable time on every day.

If you could have dinner with any famous person, dead or alive, who would you choose & why?

I would probably go with any of the ancient Greek philosophers. I think there’s just something so interesting about talking to someone like Plato or Socrates who lived 2,500 years ago, whose way of thinking resembles or surpasses that of the world’s most brilliant minds alive. I think it really shows what we are capable of as species and showcases the awe inspiring things that we have achieved and have yet to achieve.

If you could take a month to travel anywhere, where would you go?

I would probably go to Argentina since I’ve always wanted to go there. There’s something about the culture and the people that I think is really fascinating. Also, there are just so many different climates and terrains that you can visit, such as the tropical cities of the north or the deserts and glaciers of the south.

Are you a cat person or a dog person & why?

Being a cat owner I can say with complete confidence that I am a cat person. There’s this sense of complete independence that cats exude that make for really funny and lovable moments. I have yet to find a pet with more meme potential than cats.

If you could have any super power, what would it be?

Probably a bit cliche but I’d have to say teleporting. It would be so cool to be able to pack a laptop and just fly anywhere and work there for the day. Or you can always get off work and visit for a few hours, any place in the world, and then just teleport back home.

What fascinates you about technology?

I think it’s mostly about how you can see your work materialise in front of you. I don’t think that there are many jobs, especially ones that are conducted in front of a monitor, that have an immediate visual impact. It’s also really interesting seeing sectors that have been slow at digitising their operation, benefit greatly from it.

What are you most excited about with your new role at Adapt?

The fact that I am exposed to so many different technologies and industries. I’ve always been a curious person and I think this role scratches that itch. Also, being able to work from home without having endure the absolute torture that is commute, definitely makes the day more enjoyable.
